The Problem
A fast-growing AI startup needed a real-time analytics dashboard capable of ingesting and visualizing millions of events per day. Their existing proof-of-concept crashed under any load above 10K concurrent users, and queries to visualize data took over 30 seconds. The founders needed a production-grade solution before a Series A pitch in 8 weeks.
Our Approach
We architected a real-time pipeline using Next.js App Router with Server-Sent Events for live updates. Neon DB with Prisma ORM handled the data layer with serverless connection pooling for scale. We implemented optimistic UI updates so users saw instant feedback while mutations resolved asynchronously. Charts used a custom Recharts integration with virtualized rendering for smooth performance even with 100K+ data points.
