Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: August 2026. Pay for delivered work, keep what you paid for, and leave with no penalty.
1. The short version
You pay for work that is delivered and demoed — never in advance for work that does not exist yet. If an engagement ends early, you keep everything you have paid for, and there is no penalty for stopping. Refunds exist exactly where you would expect them: for work that has not been done.
2. Before any work begins
If you accept a quote and then change your mind before work starts, any payment already made is refunded in full. Nothing has been delivered, so nothing is owed — we just part ways. You can cancel by replying to your proposal email or through the contact form.
3. During an engagement
Larger engagements are delivered in phases, and each phase is paid only after it is completed and demoed — you see working software before you pay for the next step. If you end the engagement with written notice, you pay for work completed and delivered up to the end of the notice period, and you keep that work. Work that has not been delivered is not billed.
4. Small engagements paid upfront
For smaller engagements we may agree on a single upfront payment. If we cancel — not you — you get a full refund of anything paid. If you cancel before the work is delivered, you are refunded the portion that has not yet been delivered. Delivered and accepted work is not refunded, because it is already yours: the code, design, and documentation are handed over in full.
5. What is never refundable
Third-party costs paid on your behalf — hosting, domains, certificates, or software licenses — are not refundable once purchased, because the provider does not refund us either. We always confirm before charging these, so there are no surprises.
6. Defects, not refunds
If something we delivered does not work as agreed, the fix is a fix, not a refund dispute: we repair it under our quality commitment, and we keep repairing it until it matches what we quoted. Refunds are for work that did not happen — not for work that needs one more pass.
7. How to request a refund
Send a message through the contact form with the subject “Refund” and the details of the engagement. We respond within a few working days, we settle plainly, and we never make the process painful. If we owe you money, we pay it back the same way you paid us.
8. Relationship to the Terms
This policy works together with the Terms of Service, which cover quotes, payment, ownership, and termination. If this policy and the Terms ever disagree, the Terms govern — and if you are unsure, ask us before you pay. We would rather explain than rely on fine print.
